About

Hi, I'm Mel. I like the color pink, baking, daffodils, bees, butterflies, ladybugs, teaching girls to code, running my small business, learning to use power tools, practicing empowerment self-defense (I'm a certified instructor), qi gong, karate, and breaking boards and cinder blocks with my bare hands.

I live in Jerusalem with my two wild rescue dogs, who I often refer to as Schlemeil and Schlemazel. But they like it better when I refer to them as Peet (as in the coffee) and Sofie (as in Sofie Metropolis). You can learn more about their shenanigans, and their resentment of Zoom, here.

I also enjoy writing women's fiction with a pinch of oregano and a dash of chutzpah. I love to travel, especially to my family’s village in Crete, and turn my adventures and many mishaps into research for my novels.

All three of the protagonists in the trilogy I'm currently working on practice empowerment self-defense and / or martial arts.
